To complete the sign up process you will need to click in a link that you will receive in a message that Facebook will send to your e-mail account. They require this step because they want to check that you have provided your real e-mail address.

Once you have done this, any time you wish to enter to your account, simply go again to www.facebook.com and fill in only the two fields that say ‘Email’ and ‘Password,’ on the top of the page. Then you should click the button that says ‘Login’.

It is important to give your real name if you want to be located by people who already know you. Being located by old friends is something that happens frequently on Facebook.
